Dirt has an odor. It is a distinct odor differing from anything else. Funny how I have never noticed this until recently. I guess that is because until recently I haven't had an intimate relationship with dirt or soil.
We had RSP this weekend. We played Paintball utilizing Ranger Tactics from their handbook. We practiced and then engaged the recruits against the Opfor. F U N!!! It was muddy, dirty, blistering cold (19 degrees). At what temperature does mud freeze?? Obviously a lower temp than water. At least clay filled mud is freeze resistant. Who knows?
After the fun, we cleaned up the area, the weapons and loaded everyone on a bus headed for the Armory.
